2 – Life of Lament
5/4/16 (HS)

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so,but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Psalm 1

Week 1 – Grace

10/25/15

Podcast

“The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.” – Psalm 145:8

Grace is…

  • God’s love in action
  • God giving me what I need, not what I deserve
  • God sacrificing His only sinless, son, Jesus to save sinners like me
  • The face God wears when He sees my failures

Grace is everything for nothing to those who dont deserve anything.

“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” – 2 Corinthians 5:21

“In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.Read the rest

Key Scripture: “Rejoice in our confident hope, be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.” – Romans 12:12

There is intent in God behind the content of life.

“I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. Read the rest

Podcast

Key Scripture: “Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.” – Romans 12:12

“You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.” – Philippians 2:5-8
