Mission: Montgomery

Attention all upcoming 8th and 9th graders! This summer, we have a new opportunity to serve in Montgomery, Alabama! From July 30 – August 5, we’ll be serving with two non-profit Christian ministries: House to House and Common Ground Montgomery.

House to House is a faith-based community development organization dedicated to devoting, strengthening, and rebuilding the homes of Washington Park–both the physical structures and the families who live in them-teaching, mentoring, discipling, and sharing with each family. Their major partner ministry is Common Ground Montgomery, a ministry that focuses on the children of Washington Park, providing after-school activities and a summer camp, among many other things. The vision of Common Ground Montgomery is to see a renovated, thriving community in Washington Park that has strong, godly leadership, intact two-parent families, cares for the underprivileged, poor, and marginalized, and becomes an incubator for gospel-created, cross-cultural relationships that transform Montgomery and beyond!

For the week, we will be doing construction projects on home with House to House, as well as helping with one of Common Ground Montgomery’s summer camps. What an amazing opportunity to serve! The week will cost $350-400, which includes all meals except during travel. (We will help you out in learning how to raise support for this trip).
