College Mission: Haiti 2016

In early October 2016, Hurricane Matthew ravaged the southwestern portion of Haiti. All of Haiti, however, suffered hurricane-force winds and floods that destroyed crops and swept away much of the livestock. It’s hard to add anything to the vivid news coverage you’ve already seen about deaths, homelessness, flooding, and now the threat of disease in some places. Disaster always brings the opportunity for mercy, and God has given us a big kingdom opportunity here—rebuilding homes and lives, sharing the gospel, and building the Church. We see our role is to Pray, Give and Go.

First and foremost, pray. We know that more things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of. Pray for those who lost loved ones. Pray for those rebuilding. Pray for those on the ground serving already. Pray for the Church to be the Church and minister the Gospel in Word and in Deed. And pray for our team that will go and serve.

You can give to our efforts at 100% will go towards the relief efforts in Haiti. And since we are under a short window of time to raise support, every dollar given is important. You can also give to other efforts if you feel so inclined. Our denomination’s mission agency MTW or Samaritan’s Purse are two good options.

We have been given an opportunity to put feet on the ground to help with the relief efforts. If you would like to be considered for this team traveling December 27 – January 3, you can register using the form below.
