Camp Blog:: Elevate

It’s been a great week so far! We arrived to camp about 6:30 on Monday after a great day of travel. We had some time to settle into our rooms, explore the campus, play some frisbee and take in the beauty of our surroundings before worship at 9:30 followed by late night pizza at 11 which all the students loved. A full but good day!

Tuesday was our first day and our best day in terms of weather. We woke up nice and early for breakfast at 7:30 followed by TAWG (Time alone with God) then our morning worship session. Each morning following the morning the students are able to go to various interactives which are sessions led by various leaders throughout the camp. The topics range from spiritual gifts, suffering, identity, worship, college prep and grace to name a few. The students have enjoyed these times and from what I hear, have learned a lot. Yesterday afternoon during free time, some of our students went caving while others stayed on campus and played basketball, tennis, various card games and just enjoyed being with one another. Last night after the meeting everyone at camp played Lets Make a Deal where everyone dressed up in costumes apart from us. Oops! The students seem to enjoy it despite that fact and the tiredness of the day.

Right now we are in Chattanooga but it is very rainy so trying to figure out what to do. Still doing the traditional Clumpies ice cream visit but we’ll see after that. According to the forecast we’re going to get a lot of rain over the remainder of our time here. Hopefully that won’t dampen their spirits.

In all we are having a great time, and I have enjoyed seeing the students worship and hearing how the Spirit is at work in their hearts and lives. As you are praying, please continue to pray against various distractions and that our God will continue to build great community within our group.

Thank you for your love, support and prayers. We are grateful for you!

I’ll send another update soon.

In Christ,
