2 – Words in Action
Theme for Week 1: Speak the truth in love.
Truths about truths…
- Truth is Honesty.
“ But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.” (John 3:21)
Stop DOING things you think Christians should do and start BEING a follower of Jesus.
- Truth is Freedom.
“Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. 32 And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32-32)
Being a Christ follower isn’t about obeying the rules, but about living in freedom from sin.
- Truth is Life.
“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)
- Truth is Absolute.
“Pilate said, “So you are a king?” Jesus responded, “You say I am a king. Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.” (John 18:37)
– How do you usually process the truth? Do you usually accept it as is or do you usually challenge the truth?
– Do you think it seems right that we as Christ-followers can claim we have the only truth? Why or why not?
– How does knowing Jesus is the truth help challenge you to share Him? What usually gets in the way of you sharing the truth with others?
– How can you put your words into action this week?
