3 – Reframe Your Thoughts
A series where we are asking God to change your thinking, so that He can change your life.
Theme Verse: “For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, 6 being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete.” (2 Corinthians 10:3-6)
Cognitive Bias: a mistake in reasoning based on personal preferences or beliefs.
You can’t control what happens to you, but you can control how you frame it.
“I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel, 13 so that it has become known throughout the whole imperial guard and to all the rest that my imprisonment is for Christ. And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.” (Philippians 1:12-14)
1. Thank God for what didn’t happen.
2. Practice pre-framing your thoughts.
3. Look for God’s goodness.
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
