Just a Kiss – Week 1

Just a Kiss

1 – Attraction by Design

Attraction is a powerful force.

Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.” 19 So the Lord God formed from the ground all the wild animals and all the birds of the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would call them, and the man chose a name for each one. 20 He gave names to all the livestock, all the birds of the sky, and all the wild animals. But still there was no helper just right for him.21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. While the man slept, the Lord God took out one of the man’s ribs and closed up the opening. 22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib, and he brought her to the man. 23 “At last!” the man exclaimed. “This one is bone from my bone, and flesh from my flesh! She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken from ‘man.’” (Genesis 2:18-23)

“So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27)

God is the Creator and Designer so He gets to make the definitions, design and rules.

“All of us have strayed away like sheep.  We have left God’s paths to follow our own.” (Isaiah 53:6)

“Leave your simple ways and you will live. Walk in the way of understanding.” (Proverbs 9:6)

1.  Realize the power of God’s love

“Long before He laid down earth’s foundation, God had us in mind.  He settled on us as the focus of His love.” (Ephesians 1:4)

2.  Celebrate the uniqueness of your design

“People knew God perfectly well, but while they didn’t treat Him like God.  Refusing to worship Him, they trivialized themselves into silliness and confusion.  So, there was neither sense or direction left in their lives.” (Romans 1:21)

“You made all the delicate inner parts of my body and You knit me together in my mother’s womb.  Thank You for making me so wonderfully complex.  Your workmanship is marvelous, and how well I know it.  How precious are Your thoughts about me, O God?  They are innumerable.  I can’t even count them.  They outnumber the grains of sand.  When I wake up in the morning, You are still with me.” (Psalm 139:13-14, 17-18)

3.  Make a commitment to care and think.

“Our bodies were not made for sexual immorality.  They were made for the Lord.  And the Lord cares about our bodies.” ( 1 Corinthians 6:13)
