Think Different – Week 3

Think Different
3 – Gospel
10/23/16 (MS)

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2

“Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.” Matthew 9:35

THE WORLD: Your performance equals your worth

“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” Romans 5:8

THE WORLD: Perfection is attainable

THE GOSPEL: Jesus loves you the way you are now

“You have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.” Galatians 5:13

“Should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?”  Romans 6:1

THE LIE: We are good enough to save ourselves

THE GOSPEL: We are saved through Jesus Christ

“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.” Ephesians 2:8-9

If you’ve never received the Good News: accept it.
If you’ve received the Good News: live like it.
If you’ve received the Good News: share it.
