Key Scripture: So God created people in his own image; God patterned them after himself; male and female He created them.  – Genesis 1:27

Your identity shapes your actions. What you believe determines how you behave.

The Lord God said: It is not good for the man to be alone.’” – Genesis 2:18

Guys are PHYSICAL.

Girls are RELATIONAL.

Guys are VISUAL.

Girls are VERBAL.

Guys tend to THINK their emotions; girls tend to FEEL their emotions.

The Bible describes men as:

  1. The Warrior

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.  – Exodus 4:14

God takes the side of the helpless, when I was at the end of my rope, He saved me.– Psalm 116:6

  1. The Shepherd

Look at the birds of the air, they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? – Matthew 6:26-27

If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. – 1 Timothy 5:8

  1. The Lover

And you husbands must love your wives with the same love Christ showed the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by baptism and God’s word. He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man is actually loving himself when he loves his wife. No one hates his own body but lovingly cares for it, just as Christ cares for his body, which is the church. And we are his body. As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.” – Ephesians 5:25-31

Action steps:

  1. Understand the differences and honor one another.

“Love each other with genuine affection.  And take delight in honoring each other.” – Romans 12:10

“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful, bragging about what you have done, or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged.” – 1 Corinthians 13:4-5

  1. Make a commitment to honor God with your body.

Don’t you realize that your bodies are actually parts of Christ? Should a man take his body, which belongs to Christ, and join it to a prostitute? Never! And don’t you know that if a man joins himself to a prostitute, he becomes one body with her? For the Scriptures say, “The two are united into one.” But the person who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him. Run away from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body. Or don’t you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.” – 1 Corinthians 6:15-20
